UPrinting offers the best value business cards of the providers we’ve reviewed. They provide one of the best design editors we’ve reviewed and high quality business cards at Market Standard price. The standard shipping time of three days is comparatively fast. UPrinting also has special options and upgrades that aren’t offered by many other companies, such as recycled paper, rounded corners and “die-cut” or custom card shapes. They offer helpful phone, email and live chat support to assist you with designing and ordering your cards.

Default Card

We rated UPrinting’s default card 4 out of 5 stars. UPrinting provides our Market Standard default cardstock of 14 point, as well as our Market Standard default card size of 2"x3.5". They use a glossy default card finish, and you can upgrade to a matte finish for $4.73 on an order of 250 cards. They also provide the option of printing your cards on recycled paper. Even though their default card meets all of our Market Standards, it is not as high quality as some of the other business cards we have reviewed.

Using a Predesigned Template

UPrinting provides average predesigned template layouts, which we found to be a bit bland. Additionally, they provide only 5 templates, which is far fewer than the number offered by most other vendors. UPrinting provides 62 fonts to choose from when entering text onto your card. UPrinting allows you to upload an unlimited amount of images for placement on your template.

Creating a Card from Scratch

We rated UPrinting 5 out of 5 stars for creating a card from scratch. The design editor is very flexible, which makes designing a card from scratch very easy to do. Uploading an image is also very easy, as they let you resize, crop, and lock your images. It is free to upload images with UPrinting and you may upload an unlimited number of images per order. You can move text and images around with the drag-and-drop feature, and their design editor can auto-align the text for you. UPrinting’s tool shows you cut and bleed lines, so that you’ll know what part of your design might be removed during the printing process. While you cannot freehand draw in the card design tool, UPrinting allows you to add shapes and lines that you can resize. Vertical layouts are available, in addition to horizontal layouts. UPrinting will save your design for future use.

Replicating our card design to create the card below with Uprinting’s design tool took about 20 minutes under testing, which we found to be standard. Aligning text was slightly difficult, but the rest of the process went very smoothly.

Options & Upgrades

UPrinting provides flat print cards, but does not provide cards with raised text. You can choose to order a professional custom card design for $30. In addition to the default 14 point card stock, they offer 13 point card stock for a cheaper price. Card finishes offered include Matte and Glossy. In addition to regular card stock, you have the option of selecting recycled paper. They also offer special card shapes, such as rounded corners or die-cut cards (custom shapes).

Standard shipping time is 3 business days, which is much faster than our Market Standard of one week and costs $9.00-$10.00 for 250 cards. Shipping cost increases with number of cards ordered. All shipping prices vary according to location, but we picked Austin, Texas, as a point of comparison. Next Day shipping is also available, and it costs $40 to ship 250 cards to Austin, Texas. 2-Day shipping cost is available, and it costs $20.00 to ship 250 cards to Austin, Texas.
