UPrinting Conclusion
UPrinting is a great option for you if you want a lot of flexibility when creating your business cards. They offer the standard design editor, where the user enters information into a text box located next to a preview of your business card. They also allow you to drag and move all of the text you just entered onto the card freehand. Although this feature offers a lot of text/image alignment tools, it is easy to accidentally move your text or image out of place and off-center. For example, when replacing the sample text on the cards with your customized text, the text box will change size once you click on the text box, and the text will no longer be aligned.
The backside of the cards can be customized to include either an appointment line or calendar. UPrinting offers 536 business card templates and gives you the option to upgrade your cardstock to thicker paper for a small additional cost. You can also have your cards uniquely cut (such as having one, two, or all edges of the card rounded).
We found the card-creation process to be very easy. Uploading images is simple and editing the text is straight-forward. However, one downfall we found with this editor was that the grid lines you are given to use (to manually align your text) are spread too far apart. The large gaps between the grid lines make it difficult to obtain detailed precision when aligning objects and text manually.
Our Breakdown
The cards we received from UPrinting were an accurate representation of what we ordered online. Before receiving the cards we were given an electronic proof, rather than a hard copy proof. The card stock was thick and sturdy. For our purposes, however, we wished that the default stock setting had not been glossy. Glossy cards are hard to write on and are more appropriate for cards with complex images located on them. In contrast, matte cards are more suited for writing notes on.
Guarantee
UPrinting does not offer a refund policy or money-back guarantee. They do offer an electronic proof that you can use to evaluate what your cards will look like before you buy them.
Shipping
In terms of shipping, there is an interactive graph which displays which day you can anticipate receiving your cards. This graph takes into account weekends, type of shipping, and what time of day you place your order.
